William Forster

Through his journey achieving his master’s in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Sheffield, he gained invaluable experience using CAD, ANSYS, and Fusion360, which introduced him to the possibilities of simulation and aided his understanding of the fundamental processes studied. An essential part of his development journey was the final year project. His first-class dissertation report consisted of leading the research to optimise the process of creating components using reflective metals with the Diode Area Melting process in Additive Manufacturing. His investigations produced fundamental findings for the field, and his paper will receive publication. This project heavily focused on developing his skills as an individual, as he had great responsibility for the direction in which his chosen topic would take. This academic journey helped him discover how the work he does can have a purpose, and it has given him motivation to pursue everything he does in the future with the same drive.
